How to Add Links to Your Instagram & TikTok Bio
On Instagram, open Edit profile, tap Links, then Add external link. You can add up to five. On TikTok, the link goes in the Website (or Links) field in Edit profile, but that field only appears once your account has 1,000 followers or switches to a Business account. Many businesses add just one: a link to a page that holds all their links.
How to add a link to your Instagram bio
Open your profile
Tap your profile picture in the bottom right of the Instagram app.
Tap Edit profile
Then tap Links and choose Add external link.
Paste the link and give it a title
Paste the full address into the URL field. For the title, say what people get, such as “Book on WhatsApp” or “Price list”; it’s clearer than a web address. Tap Done to save.
Repeat for the next link
You can add up to five links and drag them into order. Put the most important one first.
On your profile, Instagram shows only the first link, with “and 1 other” (or more) beside it. Visitors have to tap again to see the full list, which is why the first link matters most.
Note menu names change between app versions and languages, but the Links section is under Edit profile.
How to add a link to your TikTok bio
TikTok gives you one link field, and not every account has it:
Open Profile and tap Edit profile
Look for the Website field. Some versions of the app call it Links.
Paste your link and save
It appears under your bio, and visitors can tap it straight away.
No Website field? That usually means your personal account doesn’t have 1,000 followers yet. There are two ways in:
- Reach 1,000 followers. The Website field appears by itself.
- Switch to a Business account. In TikTok, open Settings and privacy, then Account, and choose Switch to Business Account. Pick your business category, and the Website field usually appears right away (sometimes only after TikTok verifies your business). It’s free, but Business accounts can only use music from TikTok’s commercial music library, not every trending song.
Note TikTok has changed this rule before, and it can differ by country. If the field still isn’t there, update the app and check again.
One link for everything: a link-in-bio page
Businesses usually have more links than room for them: WhatsApp for orders, Shopee or TikTok Shop, a Google Maps location, a menu or price list. Instagram shows one link at a time on your profile, and TikTok gives you one field.
The answer is a link-in-bio page: one small page that holds all your links, under one short address. That address is what goes in every bio:
singgah.page/yourname
- One address everywhere. Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, your Google Business Profile and your business card all use the same link.
- Change it once, it changes everywhere. New promotion or new number? Update the page; your bios stay as they are.
- More than links. Product photos, prices and a WhatsApp button can sit on the same page, so customers get answers before they ask.
How to make a link-in-bio page with Singgah
Singgah is a link-in-bio builder made for Malaysia, in English and Bahasa Melayu, with a WhatsApp button that opens a chat straight away. The free plan covers one page.
- Open singgah.page/try. No sign-up needed to start.
- Tap Add block and pick what you need: WhatsApp for orders, Link for Shopee, Google Maps or any other site, Socials for Instagram and TikTok icons, and Carousel for product photos.
- Tap Publish and sign up for a free account. Your page comes with you into your account; tap Publish again to put it online, at its own address like singgah.page/yourshop.
- Tap Copy link, then paste it into Instagram (Links) and TikTok (Website) as in the steps above.
A real example: singgah.page/mamahomestay, a homestay’s page with a WhatsApp booking button, photos and its location.
What to put on your link page
Order it by what most customers are looking for. For most small businesses:
- A WhatsApp button to order or ask, with the message already written. (See how to make a WhatsApp link with a message.)
- What you sell: product photos, a menu or a price list.
- Your online shop: Shopee, Lazada or TikTok Shop.
- Where and when you’re open, with a Google Maps link.
- Your other socials, as small icons at the bottom.
Less is more. Five clear buttons get more taps than fifteen.
Why can’t people tap the link in my bio?
- The link is typed into the bio text. On Instagram and TikTok, web addresses in the bio text can’t be tapped. Links have to go in the Links section (Instagram) or the Website field (TikTok).
- The TikTok account doesn’t qualify yet. Personal accounts under 1,000 followers have no link field, so a link shows as plain text.
- There’s a typo in the address. One missing letter or a space at the end breaks a link. Copy it from your browser rather than retyping it.
- The page it points to is gone. Old links to an ended promotion or a removed product open an error page. Check your links now and then.
Questions
How many links can I add to my Instagram bio?
Up to five, for free. Your profile shows the first one and how many others there are, so put the most important first.
Why is there no Website field on my TikTok?
Usually because your personal account doesn’t have 1,000 followers yet. Switching to a Business account (it’s free) usually opens it sooner, or wait until you reach 1,000.
Can I put a WhatsApp link straight in my bio?
Yes, with a wa.me link. But if you also have an online shop, a location or a menu, link to a link-in-bio page with a WhatsApp button alongside everything else.
Is Singgah free?
Yes. The free plan gives you one page at your own singgah.page address, with a WhatsApp button, links, photos and socials, plus view and click stats for the last 7 days.
How is Singgah different from Linktree?
Both are link-in-bio pages. Singgah is made for Malaysia: an editor in Bahasa Melayu as well as English, a WhatsApp button that takes numbers like 012-345 6789, and layouts for small businesses, such as product photos and locations.
