How to Make a Deepavali Open House Invitation

Deepavali 2026 falls on Sunday, 8 November. If you’re hosting an open house, a digital invitation is the easiest way to invite family, neighbours, colleagues and friends of every background: one link with the time, directions and an RSVP button, shared straight on WhatsApp.

What to put in an open house invitation

  • Who’s hosting, like “The Kumar family”.
  • Day, date and time, with an end time. Open houses usually run from midday to evening, and guests like to know when to come.
  • The address, with a Waze and Google Maps link so guests arrive at your door.
  • Parking, if the road is narrow or spaces are few.
  • RSVP, so you know how much food to prepare.
  • A note on food, like vegetarian options, or whether the food is halal for Muslim guests.

How to make a Deepavali open house invitation with Singgah

  1. Open the editor and pick a theme

Open singgah.page/try; no sign-up needed to start. Tap Theme and pick something festive.

  2. Fill in the header

In the Header block, add a family photo, a name like “Kumar Family”, and one line: “Deepavali Open House · Sunday, 8 November 2026 · 11am to 5pm · Taman Melawati, KL”. The name becomes the page’s address, like singgah.page/kumarfamily.

  3. Add direction buttons

Tap Add block, pick Link, and make a “Waze to our home” button with the 📍 emoji. Add another for Google Maps.

  4. Add an RSVP

A WhatsApp block with a ready-written message, like “We’re coming! Number of people:”, makes it easy for guests to let you know.

  5. Write the details

A Text block for the menu (briyani, murukku, vadai…), parking and the food note. A Carousel for photos of last year’s kolam or celebration.

  6. Publish and share

Tap Publish, sign up for a free account, then Publish now (tap Change link for a different address). Use Share on WhatsApp to send it to family and friends’ groups.

The same steps work for a digital wedding invitation, and for Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and Christmas open houses.

Tips for hosts

  • Send it early. Many people get several invitations for the same day. Share yours two to three weeks before Deepavali.
  • Be clear about times. If you have separate sessions for family and office friends, list both.
  • Remind guests the day before. Post the same link on your WhatsApp Status. Guests who forget the address can tap straight through to Waze.
  • Change it when you need to. Time changed? Edit and publish again. The link you shared stays the same.
  • The page is public. Anyone with the link can open it, and published pages can appear in Google search. The Waze button is enough to get guests there, so you don’t need to write out your full home address. After the open house, tap Unpublish.

Selling Deepavali goodies or outfits?

The same page works for a business: murukku, cookies, cakes, sarees and Deepavali hampers. Put your menu and prices in a Carousel, a WhatsApp button for orders, and an order cut-off date so you can finish every order in time. In 2026, Deepavali is only three days before the 11.11 sale, so one page can do both.

Questions

Is the digital invitation free?

Yes. Singgah’s free plan gives you one page at your own singgah.page address, with Waze and WhatsApp buttons, photos and text. A small “Made with Singgah” link sits at the bottom.

I already have a Singgah page. Can I make an invitation too?

The free plan has one page. You can turn your existing page into the invitation for a few weeks, then change it back after the open house.

When is Deepavali 2026?

Deepavali 2026 falls on Sunday, 8 November 2026. Replacement holidays differ by state, so check the official announcement for yours.

Do guests need an app?

No. The invitation opens straight in the phone’s browser. Guests just tap the link you send.

Can I change the time after sending it?

Yes. Edit and publish again. The same link keeps showing the latest details.

Can I use it for an office open house?

Yes. Use the company or department as the host and the office as the location. The same layout works for Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and Christmas open houses too.
